Generation problems #

Why aren’t images generated anymore? #

Heavy use of Bing Images in a short time can get your server temporarily blocked. Enable an Interval between generations: open Magic Post Thumbnail > Automatic > Pre-Processing & Developer and set Interval (for example 1 or 2 images per minute). Prefer small batches of 5 or 10. If you use cron, keep Number of posts at 5 or 10.

Check the Logs to see which bank in the chain failed.

What happened to Google scraping? #

Google HTML scraping was removed in version 7.0. Existing scraping settings are migrated to Bing Images automatically. Bing is the default free photo source. If you used the official Google Image API (Custom Search), that bank is unchanged.

Does Style apply to Bing and other photo banks? #

No. Style presets and “no text” apply only to AI sources (GPT Image, Stable Diffusion, Replicate, Ideogram, Flux 2, Gemini (Nano Banana), Grok). Bing, Pexels, Unsplash and other photo sources ignore them. Style is set per placement under Automatic > Image Placement.

GPT Image is slow or fails #

GPT Image often takes 20 to 90 seconds. OpenAI may require organization verification before GPT Image models work. Existing DALL·E API keys still work after the 7.0 migration.

Grok returns a billing error #

Grok uses prepaid xAI credits, not the free Grok app. Without credits (or a payment method), xAI rejects every request, including the Dashboard test. Add credits in the xAI billing page.

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare activate_magic_post_thumbnail #

This error means two versions of the plugin are active. It usually happens just after you activate Pro. Deactivate and remove the free version so only Pro remains. See Problems with Pro Plugin.

What is the MPT column in the posts list? #

Version 7 adds an MPT column on Posts, Pages and other supported types. Use Generate or Regenerate without opening the editor. Regenerating picks a different result from the chain.

How do I test generation from the Dashboard? #

Open Magic Post Thumbnail. The Your configuration card checks your chain and API keys. Generate a test image creates a draft post so live articles are left untouched. Details: Dashboard.

I don’t get any results after generating images #

Typical causes:

• No relevant result in the selected bank for those keywords.
• Settings are too selective (Search Based on, filters, license).
• Proxy settings that do not work.
• A bank error (missing key, quota, verification). Check the Logs.

Before reporting a problem, search the same keywords on the bank’s own website. If nothing relevant comes back, relax Based on or change the chain in Source.

Do you offer support if I need help? #

Yes. Paid customers get priority replies, usually within 24 hours, via our support page.

Do I get updates for the premium plugin? #

Yes. Automatic updates are included while your subscription is active (or for life on a lifetime licence). If you cancel, you can keep using the plugin without updates or support.

Do you offer refunds? #

Buy the plugin and cancel when you want. If you cancel in the first year, you keep updates for that year only.

Can I cancel my account at any time? #

Yes. Cancel from your Account panel. You can still use the plugin without updates or support.
