Configuring Flux 2 in Source
Pro (you pay Black Forest Labs for usage). Flux 2 talks to Black Forest Labs directly. You need a BFL API key from api.bfl.ai — not a Replicate token. It generates an image from your keywords — it does not search a photo library.
Flux 2 Pro is the quality default. Klein 9B is faster and cheaper. Flux 1.x models stay on the Replicate bank.

Where to enable it #
Open Source, add Flux 2 (badge AI, locked as Pro on the free plugin) to the Automatic generation chain, then click Configure. Style presets on Automatic → Image Placement apply when this bank generates. The Gutenberg block cannot search Flux 2 (photo tabs only).
Get an API key #
Create a key on the Black Forest Labs API site. Paste it in the Flux 2 panel and click API testing. A Replicate token will not work here.
Options #
- API Key — Required. Your Black Forest Labs (BFL) key.
- Model — Flux 2 Pro (default, higher quality) or Flux 2 Klein 9B (faster and cheaper).
- Aspect Ratio — 1:1, 16:9 (default) or 9:16.
Time, billing and restrictions #
Caution: generation is asynchronous and can take 10 to 60 seconds.
Previewing this bank on Source consumes BFL credits — the plugin warns you and asks for confirmation before an AI preview. The plugin does not charge per image. Black Forest Labs bills the key you enter.
